🌱 Anaxis Asset Management continues to push forward on its sustainability commitments: by the end of 2024, the average carbon intensity of investments held on behalf of our clients has been reduced by 73% over six years, representing an average annual decrease of 20%.
📑 This figure is part of the Anaxis 2024 ESG Annual Report, now available (LEC 29).
📍Other key facts this year include:
➡️ The percentage of our assets covered by a specific sustainability target at portfolio level increased from 88.3% to 90.1%.
➡️ All our assets remained within the scope of our NZAM commitment.
➡️ No positions were held in the fossil fuel sector (including gas, upstream, and midstream) during the year.
➡️ We formally excluded any investments in companies involved in new fossil fuel projects and non-conventional activities, even if these are not material in terms of their turnover or capacity.
➡️ We improved the coverage of Scope 3 emissions data, increasing it from 19% to 41% of assets under management. To achieve this, we used third-party services to collect data and produce estimates for a selection of companies.
➡️ In 2024, our Ethics Committee reviewed nine controversial cases. One exclusion was extended, and three new exclusions were decided.
➡️ We reviewed our biodiversity impact indicators and introduced a set of 13 pressure factors and 25 dependencies using the ENCORE framework.
➡️ We developed a biodiversity footprint indicator based on potential impacts on endangered species.
➡️ We adopted new climate risk indicators showing the percentage of portfolio allocation exposed to high potential risk for each identified risk factor.
➡️ We refined our climate risk model, introducing a set of stress test hypotheses based on various investment characteristics (including alignment with climate strategy).
➡️ We collected data to calculate the proportion of our investments aligned with the EU Taxonomy. This figure stood at 5.7% at year-end.
➡️ Ahead of COP29, we signed the 2024 Global Investor Statement to Governments on the Climate Crisis as part of our collective engagement policy.
The Anaxis team will continue to delve further into all of these points over the course of 2025.
